For the screw conveyor, usually have normal round pipe type screw conveyor and U Type Screw Conveyor. Then what type of screw conveyor is suitable for wet chicken manure feeding of chicken manure dryer machine ?
U-type inlet screw conveyor:
It is suitable for conveying relatively scattered materials horizontally or with little slope.
Round Pipe type Inlet screw conveyor:
It is suitable for conveying viscous/sticky materials such as wet chicken manure with certain slope.
For conveying wet chicken manure into the chicken manure dryer, in the past we always use round pipe type inlet screw conveyor. It can working with certain slope, and its inlet hopper is near the ground which is convenient for wet chicken manure feeding, and its outlet can be connected to the inlet hole of chicken manure dryer. In actual working, the stress of wet chicken manure inside the round pipe is even, and wet chicken manure can move smoothly inside the round pipe.
If use U Type screw conveyor for the poultry manure drying machine, then in working, the actual situation is : As the wet chicken manure is sticky, and their wet manure is filled into many small buckets, and manually pour out the wet manure from small buckets into inlet hopper of U-type inlet screw conveyor. What is more, the moisture content of wet manure is not even, especially some wet manure is in big lump shape.
For U-type inlet screw conveyor, there is one flat top covering plate, and its main body is half-column type. When working, the stress on wet chicken manure inside the U-type inlet screw conveyor is not even, especially the stress near the flat top covering plate is rather high, some chicken manure is squeezed at the top flat covering plate, but can not move away smoothly in time, after certain time, more and more manure gathers here, then cause jams, then the motor load rises quickly, then motor overload, meantime some manure is squeezed out from the gap for the flat top covering plate, and cause the mentioned manure spill out problem.
According to our past actual experience, it proved that U-type inlet screw conveyor is not very suitable for conveying wet sticky chicken manure with big slope.
As a result, for the chicken manure dryer project for your company, we suggest to use Round Pipe type Inlet screw conveyor with frequency conversion motor which is enough for normal production. Thus in actual working, the motor does not need to work with full load, then it can supply enough power, and conveying the needed quantity of wet chicken manure into the chicken manure dryers.
